Break The Chain

A Campaign To Shop Local

‘Break The Chain’ is a conceptual Bristol based campaign that I developed and branded, which aims to encourage consumers to actively change habits and support more local, independent businesses in the city, which are struggling due to the influx of greedy, generic chains.

It works by infiltrating the chains themselves, subtly replacing their beermats and coffee cup holders with our own which, when scanned, offer walking routes to nearby, independent alternatives. It also employs a loyalty scheme which rewards customers who choose to shop and buy locally.

This is a project that really reflects my passion for supporting independent business and the type of ideas I love to work on. It’s something I would love to bring to fruition in the future; I think it has a strong basis to be developed into an app and scheme which could be implemented in different cities, building a hub of much loved independents and encouraging people to actively change their shopping habits to nurture them.
